Upload an asset's lease
Axle lets you manage and upload leases for assets in your fleet. A lease has three parts:
- Lease: The main agreement with the leasing company, including contract dates, insurance requirements, and the signed document.
- Schedule: The terms for a group of leased assets, such as monthly rent, mileage limits, maintenance coverage, and term length. A lease can have multiple schedules.
- Asset assignment: Connects an individual asset to a schedule and records details such as its in-service date.
Assets are assigned to a schedule, rather than directly to the lease.
There are two ways you can upload an asset's lease — you can either upload a new lease document, or assign an existing lease to the asset.
Upload a lease document
- Go to Fleet > Lease management.
- Select Add lease.
- Upload the lease document. Axle accepts PDF, JPG, PNG, and HEIC files up to 20 MB.
- Axle will read the document and fill in the lease, schedule, and asset information it finds.
- Review the document alongside the extracted information.
- Correct or complete any missing fields, then save.
If Axle can’t read the document, it will still save the file so you can enter the lease information manually.
Assign an existing lease to an asset
If the lease is already in Axle:
- Go to Fleet > Assets and open the asset.
- Set Ownership to Leased.
- Select the leasing provider.
- Select the lease and schedule.
- Enter the asset’s in-service date, then save.
Selecting a schedule may also update the asset’s maintenance arrangement based on the terms of that schedule. Changing the asset’s ownership from Leased will remove its lease assignment.
Edit a lease
- Go to Fleet > Lease management > Leases, then click "View" on a lease.

- To edit a lease, click the ellipses in the top right corner to edit.

Add a schedule to a lease
- Go to Fleet > Lease management > Leases, then click "Add schedule" on a lease.

- Fill out the schedule details.

- Upload the schedule document, add assets to the schedule, and click "Create schedule."
