Create a maintenance schedule for an asset

Axle lets you create maintenance schedules for your assets — the schedule tracks the asset's due date for a PM template and automatically creates a work request for it when it's either overdue or due soon.

In the Maintenance module, you can view, create, and update maintenance schedules, and even create work requests for PMs ahead of schedule, as needed.

This guide explains how to create a maintenance schedule for a group of assets by assigning a schedule template to their asset type. Before you begin, identify the asset type you want to update.

  1. Go to Fleet > Maintenance > Asset types.
  2. Select the relevant asset type, ie. Power unit.
  3. Choose a schedule template from the dropdown, ie. Truck Annual / FMCSA Inspection. Axle will create a schedule based on this template for every asset of that type.
  4. Open the Schedules tab.
  5. Filter by the template to view the newly created schedules.

Open a schedule to view all maintenance schedules for that asset, including schedules based on other  PM templates. From here, you can create a work request manually or open an existing one if it has already been created.

See this guide for the different statuses of maintenance schedules, and what they represent.
